The end of the semester is quickly approaching, and you know what that means… SUMMER! The only thing keeping you from long days at the pool and sunshine is finals- yuck! Today, I’m going to describe the 5 days of finals week with food… here we go!
Monday: quinoa bowl
Okay, Monday is already the worst day of the week. If there is anything that can make it worse, it is having a final. You probably just spent the whole weekend studying and all you want to do is sleep. Despite your exhaustion, you are going to power through! Eating right will help you feel better and keep you focused, right? This is why I have chosen a quinoa bowl to describe Monday. Quinoa bowls are packed with nutrients and are very high in protein. This will keep you full throughout the day and help you do your best! You got this!
You survived Monday, congrats! Running on 5 hours of sleep is starting to catch up to you. The entire day has been dedicated to studying, which means you only have time for a pb&j. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are the epitome of an “ok” meal, and Tuesday is just an “ok” day. Not many people will turn down a good ole pb&j, I mean, it’s a classic. But at the same time, it’s not really what you want eat. Oh, and the cherry on top is that you’re eating this sammy alone in Mullins.
Wednesday: leftover pizza
HAPPY HUMP DAY! You are SO close. Remember that pizza you ordered late last Sunday? Well, now it is Wednesday’s lunch. You’re losing grip of your motivation and your will to be healthy. Friday couldn’t come faster. Don’t get me wrong, leftover pizza is goood! Wednesday isn’t half bad either. There is only one more day until summer and together, we will get through this. Hang in there!
It’s time to RALLY. This is go time. Give it your all or nothing. Finals end today, and you just need to stay awake for the 2 hours of test. You accidentally woke up 20 minutes before your exam, and it feels like the Earth is spinning. Just two hours stand between you and freedom!! Coffee perfectly sums up the Thursday of finals week because it’s many college students’ saving grace. That small cup of caffeine helps us conquer the world!
Friday: chicken fingers & ice cream
Can you believe it? Today is THE day! Summer is HERE. Pull out the party hats and balloons, I am ready to partyy! Did someone say chicken fingers and ice cream?! Oh wait… that was me. Chicken fingers and ice cream are the best foods to describe the Friday of finals week. Who is in a bad mood when they’re eating two of the most delicious foods on the planet? It is finally time to sit back, relax and soak in the sun. Hello, summer 2018… it’s nice to finally meet you!
